The class is divided in groups of five. We look at realistic paintings from 1800-1900. Carefully observe the quality of them. Try to recreate the paintings in groups and present it.

Impact of the engagement on students and reflection as a teacher:

The exercise not only opened up a conversation on elements of realism but also enabled the learners to look at realism as a movement which connected drama of the everyday life and visual art. While embodying the images, learners asked questions about context, time period, clothing and various other aspects which were portrayed in the painting.

Global Perspectives – A tapestry of cultures Celebrated Global perspectives in Library with Middle school students A diverse collection of books was displayed, showcasing various languages, cultures, cuisines, and games from around the world, along with translated works by renowned authors. As part of an activity, students enthusiastically created a Harmony Quilt , where they shared details about the cities they’ve visited, cuisines they love, their places of birth, and more. Combining these pieces into a quilt resulted in a vibrant and beautiful representation of unity and diversity.
